The tear behavior of solid materials can be characterized in pure shear (trouser tear) with the SER Universal Testing Platform as a function of temperature at rates unachievable with conventional testing.

Note how the the sample tear is confined to the region between the drums, allowing clear visual access to the tear propagation site.
